New Programs Rolled Out for DRC Guests |
We never stop thinking about what we can do to provide the most educational and the fun experiences for everyone who comes to the Keys and through our doors.
Spend an hour or spend the day -- when we say that there's always something to see and do, we aren't kidding! Check out the schedule board by the front lagoon, after waving hello to the dolphins, of course, and you'll see that a "typical" day at DRC is anything but typical. Throughout the day, we feature narrated dolphin
and sea lion demonstrations that focus on a wide range of topics such as research, medical behaviors, fun facts, playtime and more. No two sessions are alike!
In addition to the narrated sessions, you may see trainers working with the dolphins in other lagoons. Feel free to watch and ask questions. The trainers will be happy to chat.

All About Babies
Motherhood is full of challenges, no matter what your species! Dolphins are mammals and, like humans, give birth to live young . . . underwater! This presentation in our Dolphin Theater gives you an in depth look at what it's like for dolphin moms as they raise their babies here at DRC.
Dolphin Conversations
Eavesdrop on dolphin communication below the water's surface through a hydrophone. Learn more about echolocation and how the dolphin's skull structure facilitates this ability. Chat with staff about how dolphins 'talk' with each other. This presentation takes place out on our causeway by the Whale Wagon.
Secret Lives of Dolphins
There's more to these amazing animals than beauty, grace
and power. Unlock the mysteries of their social
structure and natural behaviors. This presentation takes
place in the Dolphin Theater.
Keys Critters
Keys Critters is a great opportunity to learn about some of the other flippered, furred or feathered residents of the Florida Keys. This educational presentation teaches you more about wild
dolphins, as well as manatees, Key deer, sea turtles and
marine birds. Hear about their lives, the challenges they face and ways that you can help.

Bring marine mammals and the environment into your classroom to teach important concepts in science, mathematics, reading and social studies with DRC's new curriculum CD-ROM -- Discovering Dolphins. The disk includes over 40 lesson plans adaptable for grades K-8, and every plan is aligned with National Science Education Standards, Florida Sunshine State Standards and Ocean Literacy Standards!
